Young Adults Support Worker
HOURS: 07:00 to 23:00 including sleep ins and some weekend cover (12 hours blocks)
Salary: £11.14 – 12PAYE
DURATION: Temp 3 months+
START DATE: ASAP
Would you relish an opportunity safeguarding young people through semi-independent living in order to help, encourage and educate them to fulfil their potential? If so, BRC has a temp role available in the Paignton area for a Young Adults Support Worker to start ASAP!
- Provide support to those who reside in the house, in all areas of domestic and social needs, such as job seeking, further education, physical and mental activities, searching for possible job vacancies or college courses, writing job applications, phoning to arrange interviews and possibly arrange or help in transportation to an interview whilst actively encouraging the young adult to do these tasks themselves as part of their independent living.
- Keep and safely maintain accurate records and liaise relevant information with other key professionals and stakeholders involved in the Young Person’s network including Social Workers, Education, Family, etc.
- Work together in a person-centred approach to identify achievable goals/skills and the path to developing them.
- Work together with the client to provide support around the young person’s weekly allowance and how best to budget this whilst actively encouraging them to open a bank account to gain more independence over their finances.
