This week, we’re talking to Emily Rex (28), who joined BRC as an experienced recruitment consultant in Bristol and who has grabbed significant opportunities in a short space of time.

Having worked in Bristol for another recruitment agency for two years, Emily joined BRC after hearing how well one of her friends was doing as a consultant at the agency’s Clifton office.

“I came in as a Senior Consultant and have been given brilliant opportunities at BRC in the last 12 months,” said Emily.

As a recently-promoted Principal Recruitment Consultant, Emily works with a broad range of clients and candidates in social housing and support services.

“It’s such an interesting and varied sector. I work with support workers who support young people, the homeless, domestic violence victims and mixed mental health conditions. A lot of the clients are charities, and it’s fast-paced and rewarding.”

Emily works with a range of charities including Look Ahead, Together for Mental Wellbeing, The Salvation Army and Stonewater.

“BRC works in a really good way with recruitment consultants,” said Emily.

“I’ve been given the tools to do the job and lots of autonomy to get on. They offer great training, competitive rates of pay, and a hugely-experienced team.”

Emily has been working on launching a new division for BRC, covering the South East and London. She had commercial connections there already and is building further trust and taking on new client billings in recent months.

“We originally covered Reading, Oxford, Hampshire and Berkshire but this now extends across the whole of the South East including Kent, London and Surrey,” added Emily.

Emily now oversees eight counties and London with plans to grow the division over a five-year plan.

“Delivery is based on relationships in the sector, and clients trust our expertise. BRC has really given me a platform to work with, and I intend to work up to Director level,” concluded Emily.
