Description

Are you a strong Support Worker who has the skills, knowledge, and drive to make a difference to the lives of vulnerable people facing challenges around their mental health?

If so, a recognized local mental health charity is recruiting for a hardworking Support Worker to start asap.

You will be working in a newly commissioned project, which offers a therapeutic alternative to hospital for people experiencing a crisis in their mental health. This project offers a safe and supportive environment that is responsive to people’s needs and aims to alleviate distress.

Our client is looking for someone who understands the challenges faced by those who are struggling from mental health, substance and alcohol misuse. You will need to be confident in using your own initiative, be able to stay calm in crisis and comfortable addressing people displaying challenging behaviour.

Furthermore, you will work in line with the core values that include compassion and curiosity and adopt a trauma-informed, person-centered approach to each client’s needs. This project is designed to be separate and different from a clinical approach experienced in a hospital setting.

Working sleep in shifts, nights and days throughout the week, this role will give you plenty of time for your own personal commitments.  You will benefit from the security of a permanent position, the opportunity to work overtime hours to increase your earnings and a chance to join a truly unique position in South Wales.
