Salary:             £19.60 - £22.00 PAYE  

BRC are working with a Reputable Housing Association who are based in Cornwall and Devon to recruit an experienced Regional Building Surveyor on a temporary basis. Our client is looking for someone to be responsible for the strategic overview of the regional housing stock and facilitate the maintenance of the housing portfolio

Main Responsibilities:

1. Provide resolutions and project management in respect of complex repairs and issues relating to the housing association’s properties
2. Provide informed surveying role with an acquired insight of the detailed knowledge of the housing stock, working in close liaison with the wider investment team and day to day repairs team
3. Carry out property inspections, for structural defects and general reactive repairs
4. Provide technical advice and guidance to both colleagues and customers as required
5. Undertake site visits in order to monitor works
6. Work with contractors to provide an effective repairs and maintenance service
7. Identify potential difficulties in the delivery of the repairs service and make recommendations for preventative action to overcome these
8. Identify potential hazards or hazardous materials and action appropriately
9. Ensure contractors work safely within the health and safety requirements
10. Ensure that all complaints are dealt with and answer any queries from customers, delivering a high quality customer service

Job Requirements

• Driver with access to own vehicle
• Extensive domestic dwelling experience from a technical management perspective
• Demonstrable knowledge of health and safety legislation
• Educated to HND.HNC Level or equivalent
• CIH,RICS equivalent qualification in relation to property surveying
