My client based in Exeter are seeking a Building Surveyor to work within the Cooperate Property Assets Department starting as soon as possible. The anticipated contract duration will be approximately nine months from the successful candidate’s starting date.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a small team working on public buildings in the Exeter area. The temporary role involves the specification, scheduling and drawings, as well as contract administration of the work, to carry out alterations to mitigate fire risk assessment actions at several sites within Exeters operational and commercial property portfolio.
Previous experience of working on historic buildings is required. As a key element of this role, experience in producing CAD plans to a high standard within deadline is essential.
The ideal candidate will have a relevant surveying degree, be a full member with a recognised professional body (CIOB or RICS) and be able to turn their hand quickly to dealing with the fire safety issues at a variety of medium to large non-housing sites. Dealing with managers of facilities, and their user’s requirements, whilst understanding the Council’s long term strategy for the asset all need to be taken on board, in what can be a rewarding role for the right candidate.
