Congratulations to Ian Thomas celebrating 10 years at BRC

Our Director Ian Thomas is celebrating 10 years with BRC this month.  We caught up with Ian to discuss his career to date and his future plans for the business:

How does it feel to be celebrating your 10-year anniversary?

It feels great to be celebrating a decade working for BRC – I can’t believe how quickly the time has gone!

How has your career progressed over the last decade?

I joined BRC as a Senior Consultant but as I had some previous management experience, I quickly progressed to become a Team Leader before taking the helm as Office Manager in Cardiff. Last year I was promoted to my current role of Director.

What makes BRC a great place to work?

It’s great to work for a small business where you can really influence decisions and make an impact. BRC is a meritocracy where everyone has the opportunity to be noticed and financially rewarded for their achievements. The culture is competitive but supportive and the team take great pride in the service they deliver to our customers. We have various incentives for our top performers and early next year we will be taking a group away skiing.

What do you enjoy most about your role?

I enjoy working closely with the sales team and helping our consultants to achieve their goals. It’s always great to celebrate promotions and achievements and to watch individuals progress in their own careers. I also enjoy meeting with our customers and discussing how we can work together. I particularly love speaking with our social housing clients and really admire the work they do to improve communities. We are also proud to partner with lots of charities and this year we have raised over two thousand pounds for The Wallich who work tirelessly to end homelessness in Wales. It’s great to be able to give something back.

What are you looking forward to in the next 10 years?

We have some very ambitious expansion plans and I am really looking forward to growing the team and taking BRC to the next level. There will be lots of internal recruitment and career development opportunities so it’s an exiting time to be working at BRC.

What advice would you have for somebody considering a career in recruitment?

Although working in recruitment can be challenging and requires a lot of hard work and resilience, it’s a fantastic career where you will be rewarded for your efforts. There are excellent career opportunities and the earning potential is fantastic for high achievers.
