Are you a proactive worker who is skilled in rent arrear recovery or debt advice? If so, a leading housing organisation in Bridgend is recruiting for a Rent Advisor on a temporary contract to start in mid-January, working 37 hours per week (Mon-Fri).
Working from their head office in central Bridgend, you will benefit from working in a close knit, friendly and high functioning team of Rent Recovery specialists. As the successful post holder, you will monitor the rent accounts in order to identify social housing tenants in rent arrears. You will use your expertise to provide advice and assistance in order to enable tenants to repay any outstanding rent, in turn aiding tenants to sustain their tenancies and avoid potential evictions.
You will be responsible for visiting tenants in their own homes in order to identify the cause of the arrears, discuss repayment options and make agreements to repay arrears. Furthermore you will advise tenants on the options available to maximise their household income, which could include applying for Housing Benefits.
This is an exciting opportunity for somebody who is experienced in rent recovery and who will enjoy working in a fast paced, challenging and person facing role. The ideal candidate will have the confidence to lone work, and the ability to use their initiative to formulate plans to help reduce arrear levels.
