BRC are working on behalf of an award-winning, architectural practice in Cardiff. Due to an expanding range of projects, our client is seeking an experienced design led, talented and technically orientated architect to join their professional and dynamic team.  You will work directly with the Project Director and project team to develop, manage and control the design and construction of a variety of projects covering many business sectors including commercial, residential, education and mixed use projects. 

Skills, Abilities and Competencies


•An understanding of the design process and ability to manage/deliver this from concept to completion;
•Ability to translate concept into detail design and understand how to identify and design key details;
•Ability to ensure the Design ethos and vision of the business is communicated and demonstrated throughout projectwork.
•Flexibility and openness of approach and willingness to work as a team player;

•Ability to demonstrate technical expertise for project demands;
•Consistency and Accuracy;
•Commitment to implementing Scott Brownrigg Management Systems (SB-MS);
•An understanding how to detail for compliance requirements e.g. building regulations;
•An understanding of the extent of detail required in different contractual situations and experience of various forms ofbuilding contract (D&B, CM, Traditional);
•Working knowledge of UK Building Systems, Regulations and construction types;
•Working knowledge of town planning procedures;
•Ability to demonstrate value through client service;
•Ability to ensure effective project control;
•Ability to manage complex projects;

•High level of CAD skills, preferably Revit although training will be provided;
•Ability to use NBS Building and NBS Create efficiently;
•Highly computer literate, skilled in Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite applications;
•Excellent presentation skills, both verbally and visually using software and hand drawing skills;
•Excellent communication skills;

Qualifications and Experience 

• RIBA, ARB or equivalent registered Architect with experience of working within the UK Building Regulations; 
• Wide experience of working within a range of different sectors including commercial, residential, education, mixed use sectors; 
• Proven experience in running large scale and complex projects at all stages;
