Description

A reputable Housing Association in Caerphilly has approached BRC seeking a Rent Assistant to start immediately on a short term temporary contract. The position will be starting in mid-June and you will be required to work 37 hours per week (Monday-Friday).

 The main purpose of the Rent Assistant role is to provide an efficient administrative and financial support service to the Money Support Team.

 ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

o          Manage all rent receipt processes, ensuring data is maintained appropriately, is relevant and up to date.
o          Run the weekly Responsive Arrears Process and undertake all associated administrative tasks, ensuring that activity is delivered in line with relevant policies and procedures.
o          Deal with internal and external customers and partners in a sensitive and professional manner.
o          Prepare and process relevant financial information with regard to rents and service charges manner for internal/external customers
o          Processing all types of rent receipts to tenant accounts
o          Weekly reconciliation of monies posted
o          Administration of rent accounts e.g. new charges/transfers/write offs
o          Accepting payments from tenants
o          Monthly rent debit comparison
o          Fair rent re-registration and review
o          Annual service charge calculation
o          Annual direct debit review 
o          Annual rent & service charge upload to tenant accounts
o          Weekly Responsive Arrears Process
o          Weekly outbound calling on low level arrears cases

 ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

o          Excellent Numeracy and strong Spreadsheet skills
o          Previous experience / knowledge of Rent Receipts, posting of Rent and Housing Benefits
o          Understanding of Service Charges & Fair Rents
o          Customer service skills involving face to face and telephone interaction with tenants

 DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS:

o          Experience working with the Open Housing / IBS systems
